This is a building management system that enables automation and centralized control, as it can manage aspects such as air conditioning, surveillance systems, and PA control. Thanks to all its features, it can improve management, control, and security. A BMS system is composed of two main elements.

  • Hardware: Such as sensors, cameras, control consoles…

  • Software: This includes all the programs used to manage these systems.

BMS Building Control

Among its main features are:

  • Integration and control of all building systems, such as climate control and electricity.

  • Scalability. It should be easily upgradeable and adapt to the building's needs, allowing for future improvements.

  • Multi-vendor. By not depending on any brand or supplier, you have greater freedom in support and maintenance.

It brings us benefits such as:

  • Remote and centralized control of the building.

  • Increases the efficiency of facility management and operation.

  • Improves maintenance due to the rapid detection of problems and breakdowns thanks to home automation systems.

  • Using NETx in BMS

  • BMS systems tend to be highly heterogeneous due to their complexity and the large number of installations required. For this reason, several protocols are used simultaneously. These include KNX, BACnet, and Modbus, among others.

To solve the problems arising from this, there are platforms like NETX BMS, which is compatible with the vast majority of protocols. Both integrated devices and information are represented uniformly regardless of the technology used. The NETx platform is capable of performing several functions in buildings, such as:

  • Multiprotocol gateway.

  • Alarm management.

  • Logic engine.

  • Lighting management.

  • Automatic blind control.

Multiprotocol gateway

This NETx platform is Windows-based and can be easily installed on any PC. The power of your computer can be a factor if the data and management functions are very intensive. It consists of several components:

  • Core Studio: This is the user interface and is used to configure data points.

  • Core Server: This is the main component. It communicates with devices, stores and processes data, and provides building management functions.

  • Web Manager: Allows you to manage buildings, such as alarm management or scheduling, but with a web-based interface.

  • Visualization: It is an additional software that is used as an editor to create visualizations.

  • XLogic Editor. Used to create logic for the core server.

  • SQL database. Used to store persistent data such as historical data point values and alarm logs.

NETx scheme

Among the functions of the BMS are:

  • Multiprotocol Gateway. The NETx platform acts as a multiprotocol gateway, allowing it to exchange data bidirectionally, even between different protocols and technologies. If the data exchanged varies, conversion rules are applied to ensure they can be understood.

  • Visualization. This is one of the most important functions of the BMS. The NETx BMS platform provides a sophisticated visualization engine that works with both web-based and PC-based visualization clients.

  • Alarm management. The system is monitored for any unexpected behavior. Conditions are established for alarms to be triggered, and if these conditions are met, actions are taken.
